Step 1: Choose Your Platform

Choose the platform to build your site on. I specialize in Wordpress and Kajabi. However, all platforms basically work the same way!

Step 2: Build the Foundation

The "foundation" consists of the outside (which is what potential customers will see prior to joining), and the inside (what they see after joining).

Step 3: Add Content

It is now up to you to add content and promote your website. This is just like uploading to social media, except you OWN the platform!

Step 1: Choosing Your Platform

There are several things to consider when choosing the platform to build your membership website on:

  • Cost
  • Ease of use
  • Security
  • Total number of services required to operate your business

Check out this video for a detailed comparison of Wordpress vs. Kajabi.

Step 2: Build the Foundation

When it comes to a membership site, there are 2 primary components to consider during the building phase:

1.) The "Outside" - These are the pages that potential customers will see prior to joining (eg. Home page, sales pages, about page, checkout page, etc.)

2.) The "Inside" - These are the pages that your members will see after they have joined and are logged into your site

Check out this video for a detailed walkthrough of my own personal membership website.

Step 3: Add Content

Now that the building phase is complete, you can now focus on:

  • Adding content
  • Promoting your site
  • Experimenting with pricing

This is just like uploading content to YouTube or any other social media site.

However the key difference here is that you actually own the platform.

I can not stress enough just how important it is to OWN YOUR PLATFORM...But in this video, I do my best to convince you why this is the case!

Something Cool for You!

Anytime I build a website, I like to leave people with something to take with them.

This image is known as a Mandelbrot set, which is a mathematical phenomenon that was discovered by Benoit B. Mandelbrot.

Without getting too deep into the actual math behind it, if you graph this equation on the complex plane...

Zn = Z(n - 1)2 + C

...then an infinite image will be generated.

This infinite image is what you see here.

You can zoom in as much as you'd like, and this pattern will keep showing up over and over and over again.

Check out this video to see what I mean!
